Peace and Prosperity in South Asia and Afghanistan

If USA's only goal in Afghanistan was fighting terrorism and establishing stable, democratic Afghan government.  Then USA should have developed strong Afghan army in 16 years(its a long time), secured afghan borders, developed strong democracy in Afghanistan and already left after declaring a great victory.

16 years of occupation and war is a long time, and adding cost of 1 trillion dollars on top of it makes it only worse. There is no chance of victory for USA anymore in Afghanistan, and it is time for USA to move out and spend its resources on health and education of its own people. 

Instead what USA has done or achieved in Afghanistan ? It does not have control over 50% of Afghanistan, it pushed Taliban and Al-Qaeda into Pakistan, it blocked Pakistani efforts to acquire drone, F16’s, and secure its border with Afghanistan.

Pakistan army is facing attacks from Afghanistan, while trying to control its border with Afghanistan. Pakistan has defeated terrorist forces in Swat, Dir, and FATA areas. These forces were getting support from Afghanistan. Baloch rebels are also getting support from India and America in Afghanistan.

And, now USA is openly threatening Pakistan. USA and India also want to block CPEC and Asia to Europe trade forever. India is a fanatic Hindu fool under Modi government, who is giving space to America in Asia. India is creating another scenario for 200 years of slavery for people of sub-continent.

Pakistan is the only country, who fought imperial powers trying to invade sub-continent. When Pakistan stood up against Soviet Union, it was India who stood with Soviet Union and participated in intelligence and subversive activities in Pakistan.

When Pakistan is resisting American efforts to destabilize subcontinent and central asia, it is India who is all out helping USA destabilize whole region.

There is difference in goals of major powers here :-

1). China wants more trade and commerce with India, Pakistan and rest of world especially Europe and Asia

2). America wants to stop CPEC, and ensure iron curtain is effectively stopping all trade between Asia and Europe

3). America is focused on military dominance of the world, whereas China is focused on being economic super power

4). India wants to be super power on the same scale as America, China and Russia and sees Pakistan getting in the way, while China as real threat

5). Pakistan wants trade with India, China and Central Asia while also wanting Kashmir issue resolution with India

6). Russia wants to kick American ass, and secure its European and eastern outreach, and to do this it is helping anti-american forces in Afghanistan

Solution is not asymmetric warfare between India, Pakistan and Afghanistan; but resolution of Kashmir as independent state and trade between India, China and Pakistan with extension to Central Asia and Europe.

Positive goals can be :-

1). Controlling Extremism in the Region

a). We need peaceful and secular India and Pakistan focused on trade and prosperity for its people and not a country ruled by Hindu fanatics who want to destroy rest of the world
b). Controlling mullahs and global jihadists

2). Eliminating Conflicts such as Kashmir

3). Maximizing trade and distribution of wealth for poverty reduction

4). It is clear that peace in Afghanistan and rest of region is not possible as long as America is in Afghanistan. So it is now important that  America get out of Afghanistan, and giving Afghanistan a strong army and government for lasting peace.

5). Resolving water disputes

6). Resolve Durand Line issue 

Role of India is very important here. India has to go back to its secular roots, and make its secular foundation stronger than ever. It has to deescalate conflicts with China and Pakistan. India should remove its objections to CPEC, and join CPEC.  We can build strong foundation for peace through strong people to people relationships and trade links.

American threats to Pakistan are now increasingly military in nature. It wants to use asymmetric warfare to destabilize Pakistan and take away its nuclear weapons. American also wants to stop CPEC and OBOR initiatives at all costs. America is using India and Afghanistan to increase military pressure on Pakistan.

Honor, Peace and prosperity is not cheap, and does not come without sacrifices. Pakistan has to take steps to neutralize all these threats, some the steps may be :-

1). Increase size of conventional army to secure Afghanistan and Iran borders while being able to secure indian borders at the same time. China has to pick up additional burden as part of CPEC and regional security contribution. This would  mean doubling the size of Pakistan army as quickly as possible.

2). Increasing nuclear threshold in quantity and quality to deter against threat of attack to disarm nuclear capabilities

3). Increase the range and effectiveness of delivery mechanisms e.g. ICBMS's to deter threat of American forces mounting multi-pronged attacked against Pakistan

4). Increasing effective engagement with Russia and China to thwart military threats from Americans.
