Today's NAB judgement might be a great step forward; but there is still a lot of distance to cover. First step is getting them into jail, there will be further legal challenges in higher courts. Then, there is question of accomplices in crime including Hassan Nawaz and Hussain Nawaz. They will probably keep hiding in London or elsewhere and try to use foreign governments against Pakistan.
United Kingdom will now come out in open and protect Sharif family in the same way, it has protected Altaf Hussain from prosecution within and outside UK.
It is now up to public opinion in Britian to force their government to act against these pirates. Pakistanis are now looking towards Britian and other countries where their stolen assets have been laundered. We are also looking forward to arrest of culprits, and recovery of stolen assets by our institutions. If this is not done, then this judgement will only remembered as a political judgement and it will only have negative fallout after sometimes.
Also how would NAB get support from British justice system to confiscate their British justice system. This judgement also exposes, how easy it is to launder corruption money in London without being ever questioned about source of money. Same is true for Dubai and other tax heavens. I wonder why don't they apply FATF on United Kingdom, Dubai and other similar destinations for corruption money ?
